About King John's Lodge
In the heart of High Weald sits King John’s Lodge, a Grade II listed Jacobean Manor with eight acres of grounds. The beautifully restored property offers B&B accommodation and is also home to King John’s Lodge Nursery and shop, with a variety of beautiful shrubs, roses and climbers. Look out for the interesting artefacts on display in the nursery, ranging from Roman coins to a medieval dagger, all of which have been found in the house and garden.
Two double rooms, one twin room and one family room. All are en-suite and have tea and coffee making facilities.
On the doorstep and nearby
Just a couple of miles from King John’s Lodge sits Bodiam Castle, one of the most famous in Britain. Built in 1385, the National Trust property is host to a variety of walks and events throughout the year. The beautiful Bayham Old Abbey is also nearby and a popular attraction for photographers and painters. Slightly further afield you’ll find the site of the 1066 Battle of Hastings. Walk the battlefield and ruins whilst learning more about the event through the interactive exhibits on offer.
